This cherry blossom season came as a whirlwind – about two weeks earlier than expected and faded away just as quickly, in little over a week. I took a few days off work to have enough time to immerse in this fleeting experience and enjoy the season to the fullest. And it felt amazing. I made sure to revisit some of my old favorites and discover a few new stunning spots in and around Tokyo. I’ll be honest, these are almost too good to share. Almost. I also decided to unplug from social media and appreciate the moment without distractions (instead of fretting over which photo to post and what caption to write). I spent 10 days photographing beautiful families (my clients), exploring new and most stunning sakura viewing spots and doing creative photo shoots with my lovely friends. Now I’m back in the game feeling rejuvenated and inspired to share all the work I’ve been creating. Throughout the next week, I will share posts from all the gorgeous places I visited in a form of a digital diary series called Week of Sakura Hunting. There will be minimal commentary because the photos will do all the talking. First up is a collection of photos taken in the gardens of Yokohama: two completely surreal and magical places that make you feel like you traveled to another planet.
I hope you enjoyed these images and are inspired to visit next year. Which one was your favorite? I’d like to know!
