Hi and welcome to my cozy nook on the web! I’m Nano. I hail all the way from Tbilisi, Georgia in Eastern Europe and I’m currently based in Alexandria, Virginia.
I’m a government drone by day working as a social media specialist and crisis communicator, and an avid explorer and photography junkie every chance I get. I occasionally contribute to different publications as a freelance travel writer and provide bespoke travel planning and consulting services for clients.
A few things that bring me joy: my fur babies frenchie Gizmo and kitty Flerken, a vigorous workout, cherry blossoms, summer evenings in the city, ocean views, pink skies at sunrise/sunset, a scrumptious brunch, and a cup of freshly brewed coffee. Truth to be told, I’m in a timeless pursuit of my next best meal and believe that the best way to connect with communities around the world is through local food.
Travels With Nano is filled with stories about everything I am passionate about: travel, gastronomy, lifestyle and unique cultural experiences. At the moment, it largely focuses on Japan, after having lived there for three years, and Washington, D.C. metro area, since it is now my home.
This is my story. These are my adventures. I hope to inspire (not influence!) you, my lovely reader, to get out there and explore the world too.
