Spring in Shinjuku Gyoen

One glance at my Instagram account will show you how fascinated I am with spring in Japan and how much I admire the blooms adorning the landscape, especially the cherry blossoms. Now that the last month of May is coming to an end I wanted to share my favorite photos all taken at Shinjuku Garden. I like to think of it as the Central Park of Tokyo – vast, lush and full of character. During this cherry blossom season I returned here four times, each week having my breath taken away. Seeing yaezakura (the later type of sakura with dozens of petals and vibrant pink color) in particular never fails to make my heart pitter-patter. shinjuku-gyoen-garden-tokyo-11
