Hi & welcome to my cozy nook on the web! I’m Nano. I hail all the way from sunny Tbilisi, Georgia in Eastern Europe and I’m currently based in Alexandria, Virginia.
I’m a Public Affairs Specialist working in the emergency management field by day, and a digital creator every chance I get. I contribute to different publications as a freelance travel writer, do photography and provide personal travel consulting and itinerary planning to clients.
A few things that bring me happiness: my frenchie Gizmo, a vigorous workout, cherry blossoms, summer evenings in the city, ocean views, the pink skies at sunset, a scrumptious brunch, and a cup of freshly brewed coffee. Truth to be told, I’m in a timeless pursuit of my next best meal and believe that the best way to connect with communities around the world is through local food.
Travels With Nano is filled with stories about everything I am passionate about: travel, gastronomy, and unique cultural experiences. It was inspired by my trips to different parts of the world and largely focuses on Japan, after having lived there for three years, and Washington DC, since it is now my home. As I share my travel tips and write about my favorite sips, bites, and sites, I strive to inspire (not influence!) you, my lovely reader, to get out there and explore the world too.
This is my story. These are my adventures.
Thank you for reading and don’t be shy to say hi! xoxo
