A visit to one of the restaurants of highly acclaimed Ukai Group is never short of sensory experience. For example, Ukai Toryama, nestled in the verdant woods of Mt.Takao, will transport you to the remote village of Shirakawa-go; meanwhile, it’s glitzy teppanyaki restaurants in Omotesando and Ginza serve you one of the best wagyu beef in the city (actually, the latter was chosen by the Prime Minister’s office to host President Trump during his visit to Japan). For my fourth visit I found myself (thanks to my foodie bestie Naomi) at Tokyo Shiba Tofuya Ukai which offers a quintessential Japanese ambiance matched with faultless service and delicious food. You can now read my full review of the restaurant at Savvy Tokyo, but suffice to say that it was a very memorable meal which I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone. Even after the dinner was over, it was hard to tear ourselves away from this tranquil, pampering and beguiling rus in urbe in the heart of Tokyo.
Tip: If you decide to visit (which you definitely should) book in advance as making the reservation is quite hard.

Ukai restaurants are my FAVORITE! I’ve been going to Ukai Toriyama sine I was like….3? 5 years old? It’s still one of my favorite spots to this day. I went to the tofu Ukai a few years ago and loved the chic experience! xo
I totally share the sentiment Kana. I think their restaurants are so atmospheric, luxurious and serve amazing food. My husband and I said it will be our last meal in Japan before we move (insert tears here!). xx
